NO COST ORAL HEALTH EDUCATION & DENTAL SERVICES
The Kern County Department of Public Health is proud to announce the Child Health and Disability Prevention (CHDP), Treatment Program, Dental Component. This program has the unique opportunity to assist and refer non-insured CHDP children between the ages of 13 months through 5 years of age with dental education and treatment.


Treatment Program staff provides oral health education to the parent/child. The child is taught the proper way to brush, floss, to eat nutritious foods and limit snacks. The child receives a toothbrush, tooth paste, dental floss, coloring book and a sticker. A dentist appointment is scheduled for the child to receive preventive and restorative dental services. Families are assisted with a Medi-Cal and/or Healthy Families application.
WHO IS ELIGIBLE?
- Kern County residents.
- Uninsured, Emergency only and share-of-cost Medi-Cal.
- CHDP income eligible.
- The child must have received a complete CHDP health screening examination within the last year.
- For children ages 13 months through 5 years old regardless of immigration status.
