Protocols for Integrated Team Case Management

SPI Newsletter, Volume 3, Number 2 Fall 2002

In December, 1999 the Stuart Foundation funded the Social Policy Institute (SPI) to develop structured protocols to help home visitors and other family support staff in their work. We are now in the process of completing the protocols.

SPI is planning to publish the protocols this winter with the title, A Step by Step Guide for Home Visitors: Using the Team Case Management Approach. The Guide contains modules on core case management principles as well as modules covering specialized topics. We are developing an accompanying training CD-ROM.

Topics include:

  • Case Management Process
  • Getting Ready to Meet the Family
  • Assessing Family Strengths and Challenges
  • Case Planning
  • Implementation of the Case Plan
  • Graduation and Completion of the Case Plan
  • Alcohol & Drug Abuse
  • Child Abuse
  • Domestic Violence
  • Child Development
  • Mental Health
  • Center Based Services
