Emergency Child Care Program

Now, there is another option...

In response to numerous situations similar to the two above, Community Connection for Child Care has developed the Emergency Child Care Program. This program will respond 24 hours per day to arrange and fund child care for children 0-13 years during family crises for up to 72 hours. Referral to this program is appropriate when a parent needs acute medical or mental health care, or the family is in need of supportive services, but there are no friends or family immediately available to care for the child.

When a call is made to this program's pager number, a volunteer will quickly return the call, assess the family’s needs, come to the site, make appropriate referrals, and transport the child to a Licensed Family Child Care Home. The child care will be paid for by grant funding through the Office of Child Abuse Prevention.

For more information or if you would like for us to come to your staff meeting to talk about the program, please call Kim Rhodes, Program Coordinator (661) 861-5203
