Access for Infants and Mothers

Who is eligible for AIM?
Pregnant women who:
- are not more than 30 weeks pregnant
- have lived in California for the last six months
- do not have maternity insurance OR have a separate maternity deductible or co-payment of more than $500
- have a family income (this or last year) that is too high to qualify for no-cost Medi-Cal
The statewide Access for Infants and Mothers (AIM) Program provides affordable health care insurance for moderate-income pregnant women who do not have insurance coverage for their pregnancy, or who have policies with a high maternity deductible. Through the AIM Program, comprehensive health insurance coverage is provided for the pregnant woman until 60 days after her pregnancy ends, and her baby is covered for up to two years. Participants become subscribers of a designated health plan and receive their care from local providers.
