Please accept this letter of introduction. We are a group of community members that are currently participating in the Leadership Development Training Program sponsored by The Kern County Network for Children. This program has been bringing together community leaders and agencies for the past 10 years to educate, mobilize, organize and develop skills that enhance the leadership ability of those eager to serve our communities.

This year the program boasts 30 participants that are divided into three groups. Each group has been charged with designing and implementing a "hands-on" group experience that will strengthen the community. We have discussed our group project and identified two key components that our project will revolve around: 1) Enhance services provided to children and youth in our community and 2) Enhance or support an existing program or agency.

As Administrator And Coordinators Team Meeting (ACT) is a catalyst for the numerous Family Resource Centers (FRC) throughout Kern County. We would like to invite its members to help us design an informational workshop tentatively scheduled for May 15, 2008. (10:30 AM – 2:30 PM) This workshop would gather public and private community service providers and FRC representatives, for a half day of service information updates, networking and collaborative problem solving.

Thank you for taking the time to complete this Needs Assessment form. This form will assist us to better design a workshop that will directly enhance the existing service delivery of your FRC and ensure that agencies that can help you will be present at “your” workshop. Please reply by April 18, 2008. We look forward to working with you in completing our Group Project for the Leadership Development Training program.
