Ronald Errea
Ron is a native of Bakersfield, California, and has family ties to the area since 1910. Graduated from South High School in 1972. Served four years in the United States Coast Guard in the early 1970’s with tours in the United States and Asia. Attended and graduated with honors from Bakersfield College with an Associate in Science Degree in 1976, graduated Cum Laude from California State University, Bakersfield, with a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in 1980 and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration in 1987. Also received a Total Quality Management Certificate from California State University, Bakersfield in 1994.Ron is currently the County Administrative Officer and has served the County of Kern in the following capacities since 1988: Director, Aging and Adult Services, July 1998 to April 2005; Deputy County Administrative Officer, May 1994 to July 1998; Administrative Services Officer, Resource Management Agency/Public Works, November 1990 to May 1994; Business Manager, Library, June 1990 to November 1990; and Administrative Assistant, Public Works, August 1988 to November 1990.
Also served as President of the California Association of Area Agencies on Aging January 2004 to April 2005.
Past and present community involvement includes the Kern County Management Council, American Society of Public Administration, Kern County Basque Club, St. Philip the Apostle Church, and adhoc committees for the Rosedale Union School District.
Ron and his wife, Sally, are the proud parents of Leslie, a student at the University of California, Irvine, and Lauren, a student at the University of California, Riverside. Ron enjoys traveling with family, cycling, reading, golfing, exercising, and gardening.
