Cooperative Extension administers the 4-H youth educational program for urban and rural youth from Kindergarten through age 19. The program is guided by the Cooperative Extension staff, but the volunteer leaders who contribute thousands of hours to provide educational experiences for youth are the backbone of the 4-H program.
Young people participate in 4-H through community clubs, special projects, camps, and school enrichment programs. Community clubs are the most popular and traditional methods of 4-H work in Kern County.
